Introduction

The city of Rey is one of the old Shiite centers and the cradle of growth and progression for a great deal of Shiite academics and scholars of Hadith. Since the year 1380, the Scientific-Cultural Institute of Dar al Hadith, in conjunction the Astan Hazrat Abdul Azim (a), decided to hold a number of symposia with the intention of introducing and honoring the academic and spiritual personalities of those prominent people and other renowned Shiite scholars of Hadith. The academics and scholars of Hadith who have so far been honored are:

1. His holiness Abdul Azim Hassani (a) (b. 250 Hegira);

2. Abul Futuh Razi, may Allah sanctify his spirit, alive in the sixth century;

3. The Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni, may Allah sanctify his soul (b. 329 Hegira);

4. Sheikh Saduq, may Allah sanctify his soul (b. 381 Hegira);

5. Abdul Jalil Razi Qazwini (alive in 560 Hegira);

6. Seyyid Murtada A`lam al- Huda (b. 436 Hegira) on the occasion of one thousand years of his death.

The first two symposia were held in the years 1382 and 1384 in order. And now the third symposium, particularly for honoring the Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni, is being arranged at an international level.
